I was working as an assistant manager at a pool during the summer. While I was taking care of other pools for my managers, I noticed a cut in the forest. This cut was a massive wound almost, where these high tension lines ran from horizon to horizon. I got just about at the feet of the tower, and shot this facing almost straight up with a very high shutter speed. The goal was under-exposing to silhouette the tower. I had wanted to shoot this day with blue skies, but the sky failed by the time I was here, and had become dark clouds. This wound up working out for me, though, because the clouds definitely have a character of their own. Ultimately, I decided to go with a monochrome processing, as it gave the picture a compelling mood.
