I almost completely missed this set of small, feathered beauties. I was out on an early morning walk at a local lake, and had caught the sun rising over the trees just as I felt sick to my stomach. Hurrying back, I was crossing a ridge when a flurry of birds took off from the bushes around me. They landed ahead on one of the metal pipes around the lake, and I hurriedly swapped my lenses. My stomach could wait. I captured a few shots of them, and really liked the composition of this one. Sadly, they've since cut down all of the plants and bushes on this shore, so I don't know if I'll get a chance to retake this.
