Until this year, I've never taken the time to explore the trails behind the North Carolina Museum of Art. I found this beautiful tree next to a pond. The tree is green, but in infrared light, looks like it is glowing with light. Leaves and plants tend to reflect a lot of infrared light, giving them the appearance of being made of snow or ice.
Standing like solemn sentinels, the remains of the gutted engine peered out from the minivan's hood. But this minivan would not be going anywhere. Abandoned by an unknown owner, its engine compartment burned out, and its interior looted, the van waits for its last stop. As all things eventually must, it, too, must go to its grave.
I'd never seen nor heard of Americasmart before this month. I had the chance to visit Atlanta, Georgia, for the first time ever, and the sides of one of the buildings caught my eye as we passed by. I really liked the stair cases going up each corner, but the real interesting sight was what they looked like from below. To me, it looked like a path to a particularly strange path to a unique structure. I really liked the way the stair path took on the look of shadows instead of gaps.
