    Untitled 08

Image Description: A black and white photograph of a mountain valley. The botton of the valley is filled with grasses and shrugs with a road and stream running through it. The valley walls are covered in trees. In the distance are snow-covered mountain peaks with white clouds overhead.

    What If We Were Kind?

Image Description: A black and white landscape photograph of a valley. A road travels from the bottom left edge through the valley, disappearing around a corner in the center. A winding stream travels alongside the road through the valley. It is sunny with whispy white clouds in the sky. The sky itself is very blue. The bottom of the valley is filled with green grasses, and the sides covered in evergreen trees. In the distance are rocky mountains with snow across their flanks.

    Positivity Culture Is A Sham

Full Poem: https://medium.com/@wdibble/positivity-culture-is-a-sham-6eeedc61bcd1 Image Description: A black and white photo of a desert-like landscape. The curve of a road can be seen from the far bottom left of the photo to near the bottom right, with another curve going up the middle and disappearing around a rocky ridge. This rock ridge extends from the left side of the photograph to the middle, tapering off. Beyond that in the distance is another rock ridge, extending from the center off to the right of the frame. Beyond that is a flat landscape where a town is visible several miles away. The horizon line is a landscape of mountains with sheer rock cliffs. The shadows of clouds cover these mountains. The sky is filled with dramatic, fluffy clouds that extend to the horizon, with clear sky visible at the very top of the photo.

    The Cacophony Assaulted Our Senses

Image description: Black and white photograph. A very reflective building with an all-glass exterior rises on the left. A concrete building with tall, vertical black windows rises parallel to that on the right. In between the two is a building made up of rows of windows and concrete. A few street lights and other buildings are visible at the bottom of the photo.

    Commercial Goods for Commercial Gods

Image Description: Black and white photo of a city street. the sky has mild clouds, and there are cars stopped at a traffic light, facing away. Tall buildings rise on both sides, reflecting each other in the windows. The road is centered, and goes up and over a hill, out of sight.

    Headwaters

The Colorado River is birthed in the Rocky Mountains. Here, it is little more than a stream through a swampy wetland full of mosquitoes.

Taken from Charlotte's transit system near the Hornets stadium. Infrared monochrome.

    E Trade Street

An infrared shot of E Trade Street in downtown Charlotte. Despite it being spring... It still looks like winter.

  • Eno River, Winter

    Eno River, Winter

I had previously published a photograph of Eno River's Fews Ford in the middle of sumemr in glorious green and blue regalia. This time, it is in the dead of winter, taken at sunset with an infrared camera. I recently converted a Sony NEX-5 to take infrared photographs, and I must say, I'm pleased with the results.

  • Solus

    Solus

This simple composition is one of my favorite photographs that I've taken. I shot this with a Canon EOS 20D that has been converted to infrared photography. With an absolute minimum in detail and contrast around the majority of the picture, the single post with its details and contrast stand out at sharp attention, along with the small reflection it generates. I absolutely adore this composition. Awards and Recognition: Apollo Medical Center Gallery - April 2015 - October 2015

  • Summer Ablaze

    Summer Ablaze

Until this year, I've never taken the time to explore the trails behind the North Carolina Museum of Art. I found this beautiful tree next to a pond. The tree is green, but in infrared light, looks like it is glowing with light. Leaves and plants tend to reflect a lot of infrared light, giving them the appearance of being made of snow or ice.

  • Sycamore Creek, Infrared

    Sycamore Creek, Infrared

Its funny, really. I've been visiting this creek since I was a small, small child. And since then, I've always thought it was Reedy Creek. It was only while naming this photo that I realized that Reedy Creek, or what I thought was Reedy, is actually Sycamore Creek. That... Explains a lot, actually. Like why there's no reeds. This was taken near the old mill ruins, but around the bend from the bridge. It was taken handheld with an infrared Canon 20D and a stock 18-55mm lens at 28mm. I find that 28mm lets me focus properly without getting all the weird problems that IR can get shooting through a normal lens.

  • Oconee Station Unseen

    Oconee Station Unseen

This is an infrared capture of a tree growing just outside the original building standing at South Carolina's Oconee Station. While it was much too hot for a hike to the falls, as we were massively unprepared, we did get to see the inside of the original fort building of the station and the later-built house. Originally, I wanted to frame the photograph with the entire window frame, but that proved to be more difficult than I anticipated. Oconee Station is off of Route 11 in South Carolina, a 120-mile scenic route through the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. We only stopped at 4-5 places, and that 120 miles took us nearly eight hours, so if you take this beautiful drive, be ready to come prepared! Restrooms are rare...
