Dragonflies are fascinating subjects for me. They fly around, flitting from place to place. I want to photograph one in flight, but their erratic flight pattern makes that a challenge. I did capture this one, though, as it sotpped to rest on the very end of a branch. I couldn't help but feel like it was staring me down as I snapped a few photos of it.
This was taken somewhere between Max Patch near Hot Springs, NC, and Hartford, TN. Don't know where. I literally stuck my hands out the top of my car, carefully lined up the shot using the A7R's adjustable display, and took the picture. Luckily, nobody was in front of or behind us, because I did this numerous times.
I captured this at the historic Oconee Station along South Carolina's scenic Route 11. This was captured on an Infrared Canon 20D.
