Amethyst of the Desert

Amethyst of the Desert

While butterflies are the more colorful of the two, I find that moths are the cuter of the fluttering bugs. I love how fuzzy and adorable many lepidoptera get. I captured this guy on what I THINK is a desert thistle. If I am wrong about that, please let me know. At any rate, I loved the colors and fur, and how the earthy tones of the tiny moth contrast sharply with the vivid colors of the flower he's drinking from. It was well worth the pain in the knees from sitting in the small, sharp stones.
