Sometimes, the fastest way down is also the most fun... This ledge, just above Nymph Lake, provides a natural sliding surface. People climb up a nearby, shallower path, then slide down, making for a fun way to get back down the mountains.
I've done a lot of driving in my life. Some of this was mountains, some of it was country areas in NC. None of it was across vast expanses of open planes. Driving across Kansas was simultaneously the most dull and exciting driving I'd ever done. We could see storms hundreds of miles away, and see the sun inching to the horizon. I especially enjoyed driving through the wind turbine farms, horizon to horizon.
Growing out of the prairies of Kansas, these flowers stand like sentries, waiting for a future time when they are accepted everywhere.
