I like a few things in life. I'm a bit of a tech-head. I love technology. I try to stay up on the latest of what's going on, even though that doesn't always work out. Sometimes, I wind up with loads of junk. This came from a junker PC, and sat in my classroom for a few months before I took it down. I spun it around a bit and realized that I could make it into a city park with the right angles and lighting. I used my HTC One as my light, and turned out all of the overheads in my room. I used my 60mm macro, some light from the windows, and my HTC One to ultimately produce this scene. I gave it a bit of yellow toning to finish it off, giving it the appearance of high-rise apartments in the late evening.
Originally, I wanted to shoot a sunrise while I was in Chicago. I walked down to the riverfront at 6:30 in the morning, braving the biting, bitter cold. The sun never showed. I saw a general lightening of the environment, but the mist hid the warmth behind cold, wet curtains. At first, the only sounds were pops from metal posts expanding and contracting in the ice. Then, the geese began waking. I captured this image as a flock of geese fled the creaking, groaning docks.
