Shot from my childhood home as I stood in the front yard. The sky was a pale yellow and the clouds a haunting, mournful blue as the sun set for the night. The dead of winter gave the trees a skeletal appearance, and a long exposure gave the sky a general feeling of urgency. Awards and Recognition: roguemark Gallery October 2014
I passed this with my parents on the way to Aurora, NC, years ago. I totally made them stop while I got a picture. What amuses me even more, though, was what I found at last year's auction for projectredlight.org. I found a painting of the exact same boat and building, just about 5 years prior to my photograph. It was interesting comparing the two with the artist, and how the boat had faded and sank further. Awards and Recognition: roguemark Gallery October 2014
A much more dramatic take on the Forestville house, Forsaken is a five exposure HDR during a stormy day. I discovered this house while running CPO checks on several pools out in Wake Forest last summer. The owner asked me to leave the back half of the property after I passed a No Trespassing sign. After a long talk, I learned that I can actually just look up the property owner and ask permission. Even though I never got to explore the property, I'm glad I got to talk to him because it helped me out with future abandonment endeavors. Awards and Recognition: roguemark Gallery October 2014
