North Carolina isn't always the first destination when someone mentions vacations or trips, but we have a lot of history here. I was on a road trip with my family out in the eastern reaches of the state, and we visited New Bern, North Carolina. There wasn't much that was too interesting in the part of town we were in, or at least to my eye at the time. But I really liked the front of this old theater. I think its been remodeled since, as this image was taken in 2011.
A lot of people think I photoshopped it, that its a composite image. This isn't the case. At the time, the building was painted in a way so that it had a stripe of bright color, almost like only part of it was new. One upper window was boarded up so it could match the rest. I would have liked to have a look around the inside, but that wasn't an option at the time. Another old shot from my Rebel XTi.
