Purple Pixels

Purple Pixels

The Cree Shimmer Wall makes up an entire face of the Raleigh Convention Center. This wall is huge, at 64 meters wide and 13.4 meters tall. It is composed of 79,464 aluminum "pixels" and LED backlights. It depicts an Oak tree, and has come to be a sort of mascot for Raleigh, NC, City of Oaks. I really liked how at this time, it was almost entirely purple. I caught as it began to shift over to blue, and some of the pixels were "shimmering" in the wind. I shot this on a borrowed T3i, as I only owned my XTi at the time.
